The most elaborate piece of the night was performed by Andrew Hampsas (billed as SMack's resident Masochist) and Eve Prince of Living Artwork. Andrew was slowly crucified for his punishment during "Trephine", a dark and lumbering YAB YUM soundscape. Together the result was an astonishingly otherworldly enactment of penance in the eye of the beholder. "The tormented is obviously being mutilated and transformed into something not quite human, not quite machine, but some gross hybrid of the two. His metal body with it's implanted armor shines a blinding glare into the crowds eyes as they open even wider to take in the deliberate deformaties. The Tormentor is pleased with the tormented's mixed repulsion and attraction to his own manifested fantasies of self mutilation enacted by another". When Andrew shed his blood on stage for the audience he wanted to give the impression of crying blood as the ultimate show of penance for his sins.
